TOP SEVEN Frequently Asked Questions

1.  How does the 1st year textbook reservation service work?

It's easy.  Just enter your course numbers on our online form & submit it!  Your order is immediately placed in a virtual queue, providing you priority access.  (Any used books that we have are reserved first for pre-orders.)  Right before Labour Day weekend, our staff will pick & pack your order and have it ready for you on Move-In weekend.

2. Do I have to pay for my books now?

No payment is needed.  Don't pay a dime until you get to campus.  We accept Debit Cards, VISA, Mastercard, Co-op Textbook Card, Cash or Cheques. (not the UofG Textbook plan)

3. When do I get my books?

Swing by the Co-op Bookstore after you settle in to campus.  We're specially open over Move-In weekend from Sat. Sept 2nd-Mon. Sept. 4th. for 1st year students & their families or supporters.  Our friendly staff will be ready with your order.  They'll review it with you, explain your options and allow you to add or remove any titles.

4. How does the Co-op membership work?

Our Co-op membership will immediately save you a further 5% discount on our sticker prices. The $15 fee covers 4 years; Fall, Winter and Summer semesters. A Co-op membership will save you money indeed.

5.  What is so special about the Co-op Bookstore?

We're the original Bookstore on campus and the oldest student Co-op in Canada. We have a student controlled Board of Directors.  Our full counter service store provides one-to-one customer service, selling textbooks and course materials at the best possible prices.  Helping students is what we do best!

6.  Should I wait to go to my first class before I buy my books?

You don't need to wait! In order to have all your course materials ready & available by September, we have to order them well in advance of  the new term.  No worries.  If a professor makes a late change with one of your books, come back & see us right away and we'll take care of you- that's part of our service.

7.  I'm not sure what I'm doing- is it OK to call or email my questions?
